Inside NorthShore's Day Out: What a Full, Limitless Weekend Looks Like for People Living With HBL
Key Takeaways
-
NorthShore's Day Out brought Hero Club members and longtime customers to Chicago for a full weekend of experiences — a Cubs game at Wrigley Field, an architecture river cruise, a behind-the-scenes facility tour, and more — built around one idea: heavy bladder leaks don't have to hold anyone back.
-
Attendees traveled from across the country to connect with others who share the experience of living with HBL, many describing the weekend as the first time they felt truly seen and celebrated rather than overlooked.
-
NorthShore's Day Out is the flagship event of "Say Yes Summer," a campaign built on focusing on life rather than leaks — with a second weekend planned for August 15–16 bringing the total number of participants across both events to more than 40.
-
The weekend reflects NorthShore's core belief: the right protection should make it possible to say yes to the things that matter — the concert, the game, the trip, the dinner — without spending the whole time managing logistics.
NorthShore has always believed that the right protection should let people say yes — to the concert, to the long flight, to the family reunion, to staying for the whole thing instead of leaving early just in case. That belief drives every high-performance product in the lineup. And this summer, it drove something that has never been done before.
To celebrate the people who trusted NorthShore through some of the hardest moments of their lives, Hero Club members and longtime customers were invited to Chicago for a weekend unlike anything the incontinence category has ever seen. Guests traveled from California, Idaho, Florida, Connecticut, and New York to join in for NorthShore's Day Out: two days of experiences that proved heavy bladder leaks don't have to hold anyone back.
A Full Weekend — Without Limits

Saturday: A Day Out in Chicago
Attendees kicked off the morning by boarding the First Lady for a 90-minute architecture cruise on the Chicago River led by the Chicago Architecture Center. From there, the group traveled together to Wrigley Field to watch a dominant Cubs victory, vouchers for food and drinks in hand. After the game, everyone connected over classic Chicago deep dish pizza.
"There are so many people out there dealing with similar things — you just don't know about it because nobody is talking about it," said George, a NorthShore Hero Club member. "Not only has the weekend been fun, but it also shows that there is a community of people that can support each other. Nobody is ever really truly alone when living with incontinence."
Many people living with HBL have stopped doing things they love: skipping events, cutting trips short, staying home when they'd rather be out. NorthShore's Day Out was built to change that.
"Back home, things feel isolating," said Kevin, another Hero Club member. "This was a great opportunity to meet a lot of people in the same boat. Everyone here has a shared experience and a common theme that brings them together."
"Felt like meeting a lot of friends — even making a lot of friends at this company," Kevin added. "It's been phenomenal."
"Getting to spend a full weekend with our customers, hearing their stories, cheering together at Wrigley, and connecting over dinner was deeply special," said Adam J. Greenberg, Founder and CEO of NorthShore Adult Diapers. "It was everything hoped for and more."

Sunday: Inside NorthShore
On Sunday, guests toured NorthShore's 180,000-square-foot warehouse and offices in a 90-minute behind-the-scenes session led by Greenberg himself. Three breakout sessions followed:
A hands-on diaper testing experience where guests compared NorthShore products to store brands side by side — seeing the science behind the diaper firsthand.
A lunch and Q&A panel with Greenberg and several NorthShore leaders. Guests came with questions and got authentic answers — including an early look at an exciting new product launching in early fall.
Then, guests got to participate in an open forum where they shared experiences, product thoughts, and direct feedback with the NorthShore team.
"To see the facility — there was no idea about all that's behind the scenes," said Kelly, who attended as a caregiver. "It's very interesting to see. Impressive."
The Story Behind NorthShore's Day Out
The attendees came from the NorthShore Hero Club — a community of customers and caregivers who have chosen to share their stories publicly so the next person feels less alone. They represent a group the incontinence industry has long overlooked.
Most products on the market are built for Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) — drips and dribbles triggered by a sneeze or laugh. Heavy bladder leaks are a different problem entirely. HBL involves larger volumes and multiple full releases throughout the day or night — and the products built for the lighter end of the spectrum were never designed to solve it. According to an independent study, 74% of incontinence product buyers say their symptoms exceed drips and dribbles — yet store brands remain the default option for most.
NorthShore's Day Out is the flagship event of "Say Yes Summer," NorthShore's July and August campaign built on one instruction: focus on life, not leaks. Saturday's theme, "12 Hours of Freedom," is a nod to NorthShore's MegaMax® adult diapers, tested for up to 12 hours of protection. The point of the weekend was that those hours were spent on the river, at Wrigley, and at the dinner table — not on the logistics of getting through them.
Most importantly, evaluate your current protection. If you experienced a leak, it may be a sign that your product is not meeting your needs.
"Relationships and friendships were forged this weekend that will continue long after everyone heads home," Greenberg said. "That's what Say Yes Summer is really about — saying yes to the unexpected, yes to new people, and yes to a full life."
Incontinence affects millions of Americans, yet remains one of the least talked about health conditions. Every event, every story shared, and every conversation started is one more step toward making it easier for the next person to get support. NorthShore believes that starts with saying "adult diapers" out loud.
Weekend Two Is Coming
NorthShore's Day Out isn't over. A second weekend takes place August 15–16 for a new group of Hero Club members and longtime customers. Across both weekends, more than 40 people will have taken part in what NorthShore believes is the first event series of its kind in the adult incontinence category.
